Shopping bag helmet

I came across this new invention today on Springwise. It’s an eco-friendly shopping bag that doubles as a safety helmet. This is just one of a number of new safety inventions that have emerged in Japan following the disasters in 2011. The fact that this safety item doubles as a shopping bag, increases the likelihood of people having them with them, should another disaster occur.

Storia, the company behind the product are apparently looking to get some brands involved to make them more attractive to consumers.

Health and Safety campaign goes big in Japan

The McCann Erickson Group have seen a great deal of success with the ad campaign they developed for The Health and Safety Authority. The campaign aimed to bring down the high number of farm deaths in Ireland.

The below ad also gained a lot of media coverage in Japan (where the number of farm deaths is also quite high) and was included in a number of publications there. The apparent reason for its success is the combination of a powerful image and well-crafted, gripping copy.
